Jason Statham’s New Film ‘Working Man’ Is Putting A Beat Down On ‘Snow White’ At The Box Office

It turns out Jason Statham is the fairest of them all, taking the #1 spot at the box office with his new film ‘A Working Man’ as ‘Snow White’ nosedived even further on its second weekend.

Even after its terrible opening weekend, Disney’s live-action remake was still expected to be the top film in US and Canadian cinemas this past weekend. Instead, Working Man opened with $15.2 million, putting Snow White ($14.2 million), and also Jenna Ortega’s ‘Unicorn’ ($5.7m) to sleep.

Co-written by Sylvester Stallone, Working Man features a b@dass Jason Statham playing a construction worker with an elite military past. Which is essentially every Jason Statham movie ever, but it still outperformed Disney’s $250 million blockbuster. A Working Man only cost $40 million to make!

As poor as Snow White is doing though, you’ve still got to big up Jason Statham for being one of the few legitimate action movie heroes around right now. He can make the same movie over and over again and people will still go to see it. It’s actually amazing how he hasn’t attached himself to a major franchise yet (unless you count Fast & Furious but he isn’t the lead).

He’s basically an 80s action star in the year 2025, and can guarantee you some brainless fun for 90 minutes or so in everything he puts out.

Imagine how chuffed Statham and the team behind A Working Man are that their dumb film is sitting at #1 above Snow White right now. There’s no way they saw that coming, and no way Disney did either.  If only they’d booked Statham as one of the dwarves eh?

Meanwhile, the son of the Snow White producer really isn’t taking the news well.
