A woman running for governor of Tokyo stripped live on TV, asked viewers if she was sexy, and then gave out her contact details and encouraged viewers to text her, promising to respond to everyone’s messages:

Wow. Fair play to Uchino Airi on a surefire vote-winner right there. Some might say this is peak political performance!
Apparently Japan’s major broadcaster NHK is required to give air time to everyone running for governor of Tokyo, and the candidates are allowed to go on the channel and do/say whatever they like, include taking their clothes off and giving their digits out to voters. You can pretty much guarantee than any person Airi respond on text will vote for her in the election, but even if they don’t, she’ll probably end up making bank on whatever Japan’s version of OnlyFans is, so it’s a win-win situation no matter what happens.
If only Rishi Sunak had thought of doing the same thing instead of crying about a childhood with no Sky TV, he may have won the general election the other week…
