I’m fairly certain that everyone in the world has probably seen ‘Titanic’ at this point and that most people out there agree that Rose could have easily just scooted over a little bit on that door instead of letting Jack freeze to death in the Atlantic Ocean like a major bxtch.

I’m not sure if James Cameron has ever discussed this issue directly, but given all the recent hype about his new movie ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’, he decided to step up to the plate and examine the claim in forensic detail for a new video in National Geographic’s 25th anniversary special about the movie. In order to do this, he managed to convince two actors to do everything that Rose and Jack did in the movie and see what happened. In fact, they actually made them do everything for twice as long as they couldn’t immerse them in water that was actually as cold as the Atlantic Ocean and so it was double the temperature and double the time.

Anyway, the full video isn’t out until the special airs on February 5th but you can see a clip from it below and it doesn’t look good for Jack, let’s put it that way:

Yep, I don’t think that looks like he’s getting out of it alive whatsoever. Cameron also noted a key factor in the experiment and that’s that the piece of wreckage they were hanging out on wasn’t actually a door, but was a piece of wood panelling from a first class cabin. I suppose that could make all the difference hey?

Anyway, I probably won’t be watching the experiment myself, but feel free to check it out and let me know what happens. It doesn’t really matter what goes down though does it? It’s not like they’re gonna reshoot the movie with Jack surviving is it? Grow up.

For more of the same, check out this alternative ending that was filmed for ‘Titanic’. Absolutely appalling.
