Boxing is arguably bigger than it’s ever been and I sadly have to say that this is probably due at least in part to the influence of the Paul brothers and their ridiculous ‘celebrity’ boxing matches – and it looks like the bout Jake has his eyes on next could be one of the biggest in the history of the sport.

Earlier this week, none other than Mike Tyson – who was probably a bit shook after beating up some dude on a plane for annoying him last Thursday – decided to take the unprecedented step of calling Jake Paul out when he was speaking to Joe Rogan on his podcast:
Seems that Mike Tyson is ready to get into the ring with Jake Paul…

Let’s do it, Jakey, God, wouldn’t that be cool?
And of course, it only took Jake Paul a couple of days to respond to the callout saying that he was all for it. Speaking to Boxing Social, Jake said he thought that a fight between him and Tyson would be the biggest selling PPV of all time:
We’re still having some conversations with people like Mike Tyson, who recently said he wanted to fight… I think it would be one of the biggest PPVs of all time.
Together when we were on the same card, we sold almost 2 million PPVs, so imagine if we fought, 3 million PPVs, 4 million PPVs, who knows?
Mike Tyson, let’s make the fight happen. I’m ready, and I know I’d win.
In fairness, he’s probably right about that given the numbers that Paul’s own fights and that Mike Tyson exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr did last year. Gotta wonder if it’ll be a real boxing match or just an exhibition though – surely everyone would absolutely love it if it was a genuine bout and Mike Tyson knocked out Jake Paul?
I guess Tyson might be scared of Paul after his current undefeated record though and might not want to risk it himself hey? Surely not?
We’ll have see but I’ll certainly tune into the highlights as I always do with these dumb events. Absolutely not spending any money on it though.
For more of the same, check out when Jake Paul stole Floyd Mayweather’s cap and Floyd tried to punch him. Was actually pretty funny that.
