Jake Paul Vs Mike Perry has been confirmed for July 20 after the initial Mike Tyson fight was postponed due to Tyson experiencing a bad ulcer flare-up and being unable to train properly.

Interestingly, this is a much more dangerous fight for Jake Paul than the Mike Tyson one. For one thing, Mike Perry is an active fighter at 32 years old, who is currently undefeated in 5 fights in the BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship). This is easily Jake Paul’s best win if he managed to get it done, because for once he’s actually fighting someone who has the capability to properly f*** him up.

Of course, it will be a straight-up boxing match and not bareknuckle which favours Jake Paul on paper, as Mike Perry doesn’t fight with gloves. Paul is also physically bigger than Perry, but at least he’s up against a relatively young active fighter in his prime rather than an old man with a grey beard who has ulcer flare ups and hasn’t boxed professionally in decades.

I’m actually surprised Jake Paul is willing to risk the momentum/hype going into the Mike Tyson fight, which has been rescheduled for November. If he loses this one against Mike Perry, the interest/payday for the Tyson fight could take a serious hit. On the other hand, if he beats Perry, we’ll have no choice but to take him more seriously as a boxer.

In any case, fair play to Jake Paul for accepting a fight that is easily his most compelling yet. Not the Mike we expected, but the Mike we wanted! The build-up should be pretty entertaining too.
