Well, it’s finally happening. Jake Paul and Nate Diaz have agreed to a boxing match on August 5th in Dallas, Texas, which will be put on by Jake’s Most Valuable Promotions and Nate’s Real Fight Inc.
They’ve even put a trailer out:
So it seems Jake Paul is basically the UFC’s pension plan now, with any ex-fighter who takes him on set for life with a massive payday regardless of the result. He’s already bested Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva, but was then put in his place by the first actual boxer he faced in Tommy Fury. I guess he feels confident he can get back to winning ways by fighting another retired MMA guy in 37-year-old Nate Diaz.
The fight has been brewing for some time now, with Nate Diaz slapping one of Jake Paul’s buddies backstage at the Paul/Silva fight back in October:

Remains to be seen whether Jake Paul has accepted that fighting 35+ year old ex UFC fighters is his lane, or whether he’s taking this fight to keep his name out there while he hones his skills ahead of another credible boxing bout. I guess that will all depend on the outcome of this one. Here’s hoping Nate does the business eh?
