Jake Paul really seems to enjoy boxing retired, untrained or older opponents and that’s one criticism he’s always faced as he attempts to transition from YouTuber to pro boxer. Does that criticism still hold up now that he’s agreed to fight Mike Tyson? At 57, Mike Tyson is obviously way past it and literally 30 years older than Jake Paul, but he’s also Mike Tyson, so does that make it a fair fight overall?
Jake Paul seems pretty confident he can put Iron Mike to sleep, but then of course he’s going to say that…
I’m not sure any fan of boxing is ready to live in a world where Mike Tyson has been KO’d by Jake Paul, even if it is a 57-year-old Tyson that will be stepping into the ring. Oppositely, if Iron Mike is able to knock Jake Paul out, he might just singlehandedly free us all from this influencer boxing nonsense for good. If he doesn’t manage it though, will we be left with no choice but to take Jake Paul seriously as a professional boxer?
One thing’s for sure; this will be a Jake Paul boxing bout that people are actually going to tune into for once, and 100% of them will be praying for a Mike Tyson KO victory. Roll on July 20!
No doubt Sean Strickland will be on standby…
