I always say the same thing when I hear about Jake Paul’s fights: I might watch the highlights or check out the result, but no way am I staying up or paying for one of them.

Seems like I’m not the only one either, as Paul has come out and revealed that he lost millions of dollars on his recent fight with UFC legend Anderson Silva – which he ended up winning after knocking down Silva in the last round. Jake blamed this on Silva himself saying that he was knocked out whilst training for the fight last week.
He was appearing on his brother Logan’s ‘Appauling’ podcast where he explained the situation:

Says pre-buys tanked on Wednesday after the news came out of Anderson Silva saying he got knocked out in camp.pic.twitter.com/UkWrUTKhrA

Halloween, World Series, Sunday football, this is the worst time of the year to fight, but guess what?
I had to fight, all my fights from now on will be in the Summer when there are no sports, all my other fights were during COVID when no had anything to do or anything to watch. I had to fight this year…
Not only did I make zero, I lost millions of dollars running an organization with 15 employees.
I think it did 200-300k which is kind of upsetting.
The prebuys were going crazy and on Wednesday when the news came about Anderson saying that he got knocked out and the fight was in jeopardy, and all the press came out, the prebuys tanked, all the way down.
The general public sees that…it killed ticket sales, everything went to zero.
Hmmm. It doesn’t really strike me as the kind of event where people would buy tickets two or three days before, but whatever. If that’s Jake’s story I suppose that’s what he’s sticking to for now.
Hopefully the Problem Child’s rumoured fights against Nate Diaz or Tommy Fury get a few more buys and then maybe after that he can fight a real boxer and get knocked out so he shuts up for a bit about how he’s an amazing boxer. He might be better than we thought, but he really needs to fight someone relevant if he’s ever going to convince us. C’mon Jake, prove us all wrong.
For more of the same, check out this story about one of Jake Paul’s best friends stealing $3 million off him. Seems like he loses money quite a lot.
