Current Players

The following is a pick of Valladolid’s current crop of talent.

Javi Guerra — Valladolid’s current star man has scored 32 goals in 52 appearances. Whenever we find ourselves in a tricky spot Javi Guerra is always there with a goal. He’s particularly dangerous with his head. It would be a miracle if we managed to keep hold of him beyond the summer.

Manucho — Yes THAT Manucho. The Angolan striker who was signed by Manchester United but couldn’t cope with the rigours of English football. He was loaned to Panathinaikos where he couldn’t cope with the rigours of Greek football. Then he was loaned out to Hull where it was made plainly clear he couldn’t cope with the rigours of English football. United sold him to Valladolid during the summer of 09. He made an enemy of himself to the fans during his first season when reports emerged that he and a couple of other players were going out clubbing the night before matches. This was definitely a contributing factor to the club’s relegation. When he signed for the club he promised that he would score 40 goals that season, but he fell 35 short. In the 2010-11 season he spent a year on loan in Turkey with two different clubs before returning to Valladolid this season with a seemingly changed attitude. His performances are better and he causes more problems for defenders, however it would be nice if he contributed a few more goals. He has made 31 appearances for Valladolid.

Sisi — Valladolid are a club who like a perm (You’ll see why when you read about some of our former players). Sisi is a left winger who has had two spells at Valladolid. The first was a two year loan deal between 2006 and 2008 where he made 76 appearances scoring six goals. He returned to us in 2009 where he has made 62 appearances to date also scoring six goals. He enjoys a cult status amongst fans. He is Valladolid’s wing wizard. With a perm.

Mehdi Nafti — A Tunisian holding midfielder, who some of you may remember from his four year spell at Birmingham City. He joined Valladolid in 2011 and has made 39 appearances scoring once.
