Keith & Supabeatz are two producers and remixers from Italy.Ai??Their tracks have been supported by the likes of Laidback Luke, Crookers, Brodinski, Congorock, Shinichi Osawa, Bart B More, Fake Blood and Benny Benassi – also not forgetting a lot of support on BBC Radio1 by the likes of Annie Nightingale, Annie Mac, Kissy Sell Out and Jaymo & Andy George.
Their story all started in late 2008, when they worked together to enter a competition remixing Franz Ferdinand ai??i?? which they won. After this success, they decided to work together on some original material.
Their first co-produced EP entitled “Pluto”, came out in May 2009 on Hypotron Records and it quickly exploded in the underground music scene, being supported by Congorock, Malente and Don Rimini to name but a few.

2011 started great for the Italian duo.Ai??Supabeatz played at Nouveau Casino (Paris) and did a mini Asian tour playing in Seoul (Korea) and at Womb in Tokyo with Shinichi Osawa.Ai??”Cyclone”, the track he did along with Shinichi has been released on L.D.K. and it gained some great support from Laidback Luke, Benny Benassi, Congorock and His Majesty Andre.
Keith’s new production “Get Up Ouch” has been released on a Mental Groove’s compilation curated by Don Rimini, and it was featured on the HARD Haunted Mansion mix by Brodinski and Busy P!

We all know you as being a dynamic duo, but outside of music who are you? What do you do on the daily?
Outside what? We really can’t imagine us outside music! We are just two guys that love producing music all the time, everyday and that’s all we do in our lives! And when we don’t make tracks, we work on building our profile, on public relations, promos and so on..

where to buy propranolol. As a duo, how do you go about laying a track down? Is it more of a collaborative effort or do you give each other individual parts to create?
Well.. it depends on each track. During the last year, we worked on so many remixes via skype dropping each other parts, ideas and sounds. It’s quite different when we work on original tracks, we always try to be together working face to face, doing long studio sessions and it’s really cool to have a direct confrontation, from the basic idea till the mixdown and mastering.. you know, two brains working at the same time are better than one!

Who would you say are the biggest influence in music for you both, past and present?
Supabeats: A mix of France and USA for me: Green Velvet, Daft Punk, Todd Edwards, Cassius, Masters At Work, St. Germain, Motorbass (to name but a few..) have had a great impact on my music. I was so excited whenever I listened to any new album or single of them. Their way of mixing, the sounds they used, the evolutions of their tracks were, and still are, a source of inspiration for me.

Keith: In the past I was in love with Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, Royksopp, Daft Punk ,Groove Armada, they made THE MUSIC, not just an electronic track or a one shot hit, they made the story, and I love them! I was and actually I am inspired by their sounds and fascinated by their technicism.. symphony!

Back to the present, it’s not so easy, there are so many producers out there we love: Para buy azithromycin online overnight. One, Siriusmo, Crookers, Tony Senghore, Savage Skulls and T.E.E.D. ..but there are so many others that should be mentioned.. an endless list!

Do you think about the audience when you are making music or is it a strictly subjective process?
Both things actually. We guess it’s all about a good compromise between what audience needs and what we feel like when we make a track – we always try to have fun and don’t think too much about what people expect from us.
But we must admit nowadays the “problem” is the tender age of people coming to shows, most of them are very young and they’re just looking for a big drop and a simple, ignorant boom-boom. So we (and maybe also other djs and producers around..) try to satisfy both sides!

From what it seems, youai??i??ve created an endless list of remixes for people, How did you come to create some of these tracks and what deems a track remixable to you, and whatai??i??s your process for remixing?
Endless indeed! We did SO many remixes during the last year (maybe too much?). After our first Ep on Southern Fried, we got asked by our label manager to remix some of the best artists (such as Crookers & Soulwax, Brodinski & Mumdance, Mighty Dub Katz, Jess & Crabbe, The 2 Bears etc) and tracks from their catalogue. generic accutane 40 mg. where to buy salbutamol nebules.
We think a track is remixable when it has a strong and catchy musical idea or a cool vocal hook. We guess it’s a natural process when we remix a new track: we start from cutting samples from the original trying to keep more elements as we can from the original track, then it comes the beat, the baseline and so on with structure and arrangement.

We are currently working on new original tracks, some huge collaborations – including one with Tony Senghore and one with a BIG italian act, which we can’t tell you because its top secret! .
On the remix side, we’ve just remixed Play Paul, Highbloo, Don Rimini and Wax & Neo. We will remix Laidback Luke (tbc), Dr. Gonzo and His Majesty Andre.
And we are now part of the Paramount Artists family (UK based booking agency)… exciting!

CHIRPSE

1. Tell us about a sick chirpse you pulled off recently?
S: Two months ago, I was flying to Tokyo in the economy class and I told the hostess I was sick and totally claustrophobic and ask her if I could move to business class to sleep and feel better. Yesss, they moved me there!
K: I travelled in the first class of an italian train with a child ticket, it worked.

2. What’s the sickest chirpse you’ve ever pulled off at work?
S: Last year I got a remix request from a mexican major label. Obviously I did it with a fake name because it sucked! I was hating the original track so much that I asked the label if they could give me another month to make it, telling them I needed more days because it was really hard. I did the whole remix during the last night before deadline. Well, they loved the result and they paid me a bit more!
K: Last year I worked with a phone company, and one day I didn’t go to work to make music, but I told my boss I was in the police station because I had witnessed a fight. He was really worried!

3. Whatai??i??s the sickest chirpse youai??i??ve pulled off on the opposite $ex?
S: I really can’t remember as I am engaged since almost 5 years.. 😀
K: During one of the latest gigs, a girl came close to me to “speak” while I was playing, and since she was really insistent so I just said to her: “Sorry, I’m gay!”
