Still no sign of missing teenager Jay Slater in Tenerife, but plenty of conspiracy theories doing the rounds that are mostly based on the suspicion that Slater was selling drugs on the island, or owed a lot of money to drug dealers, and the fact a GoFundMe was so quickly set up following his disappearance, racking up £30,000 and counting.

This interview with Jay Slater’s mum Debbie isn’t exactly helping matters, with viewers claiming she is ‘literally trying to squeeze tears out’ as she begs for her boy to be returned home:

Now it could be that she’s so stressed and exhausted that it’s hard for her to exhibit the sort of emotion you might expect from the mum of a missing teenager, but most commenters seem to think Jay Slater’s mum definitely knows more than she’s letting on. Not that she’s necessarily involved in whatever might be happening, but that she may know Jay Slater was (allegedly) dealing drugs in Tenerife or that he’d got mixed up with the wrong people. She does seem to believe he’s been kidnapped or got into some kind of trouble with others, rather than just gone missing on his own during his 11-hour hike.

Now obviously if this poor lad is found dead in a ditch somewhere in Tenerife in the coming days, then all these people are going to feel pretty stupid. Hopefully there’s some kind of conclusion to this story in the coming days – whether it’s Jay Slater being found alive and well or some dodgy scam that gets blown wide open by the police in Tenerife.
