If you’re an Instagram ‘influencer’ or model who gets paid to travel the world and share pictures online, the least you can do is occasionally risk your life for your craft, right?

That’s what Instagram couple Kelly Castille, 33, and Kody Workman, 32, were thinking when they dangled off a 40ft infinity pool in Bali the other day, but it seems their efforts have gone unappreciated as people are calling them “stupid” and “irresponsible” for risking their lives in the name of Instagram likes.

Among the comments they’re getting:
“[You’re] teaching other people how to be stupid and risk their life.”
“Why is the woman always the one risking themselves for pictures… never see a guy hanging over a cliff.”
“You know, other people are gonna start dangling themselves from infinity pools and dangerous like this also to get a shot like this. Way to set an example.”
“Dumbest thing I’ve seen today. Imagine if she fell, all for the sake of a little internet fame.”
Well it got 30,000+ likes compared to the 7,000 or so their other photos get, so I guess it was worth the gamble for them. And like I said it’s good to switch things up and put your life on the line now and again just to prove to your Instagram followers that you’re not getting lazy on them. Kelly and Kody obviously aren’t afraid to die doing what they love. If that means all those children hanging out by 40ft infinity pools might copy them, so be it.
