Despite the fact that the fight was a bit of a damp squib, there’s no denying that Jake Paul V Tommy Fury was one of the biggest sporting events of the year so far and that a rematch would probably do big numbers, even if the fight itself probably isn’t going to be that interesting.

Apparently the wheels are already in motion for the rematch and the pair of them are looking for another date in July. ESPN Boxing journalist and insider Mike Coppinger sat down with Max Kellerman and said the following about a possible date – although he did sort of backtrack on his comments in a tweet sent after the event:
I believe there will be (an immediate rematch).
I’m hearing that they’re looking at July for the rematch and I think it’s going to be even bigger than the first fight.
Set to take place? Never reported that. Said it’s possible rematch in July. But thank you for the attribution!

So what does that mean? Seems like it’s a no brainer that there’s going to be a rematch between the pair of them and the sooner the better for everyone involved so they can make the most money possible.
Of course it’s going to suck for us punters because the fight is probably going to completely blow again, but if you’re paying for a celebrity boxing match then you should be prepared to be disappointed anyway really. Can’t wait until July!
For more of the same, check out Jake Paul’s trainer messaging the guy who posted the fake script for the fight on the internet. Such a lol.
