A man in Madurai, India has died from his injuries after falling into a pot of boiling porridge that was being prepared for the Aadi festival at the Muthu Mariyamman temple in Palanganatham.
The man appears to be wobbling and out of sorts as he stumbles by the pot, and as others try to warn him, he ends up falling into the porridge:

TNM reports that the man suffered burns to 65% of his body (it really looked like a lot more than that tbh) and was rushed to the Rajaji Government Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a few hours later. The most frustrating thing is how he couldn’t get himself out of the pot once he fell in, as he was too incapacitated for whatever reason (aside from being horrifically burned all over his body, that is). Fair play to the rest of the people in the video who tried to pull him out, but that was never going to be an easy task when you’re burning the sh*t out of yourself getting anywhere near him.
UPDATE: The man’s wife claims her husband suffered from epilepsy and was having a fit at the time which made him lose his balance and fall inside. Absolutely tragic if that’s the case, but then again it’s tragic no matter how it happened. RIP to the victim and thoughts with his friends and family.
