‘Return Of The Mack’ legend Mark Morrison has been arrested in Florida after barging into a restaurant and attacking the manager following an argument over ‘loud music’ that occurred the night before.

Morrison, 52, stormed into Le Bar à Vin in Palm Beach, Florida, and ‘aggressively shoved’ Nicola Lavacca, the restaurant’s general manager. The night before, Morrison was hosting an event at the venue and had a disagreement with management after repeatedly telling the band to turn up the volume, even after being told it was too loud.

Eventually officers arrived and arrested Morrison on a charge of simple battery. I guess he got tired of being a one hit wonder?

It’s not the first time (or the second, third or fourth time) Mark Morrison has been in trouble with the law, mind you. In 1997, while Return of the Mack was smashing it in the charts, Morrison was jailed for 3 months for threatening a police officer with a stun-gun (he claims he didn’t know stun guns were illegal, although you’d think he was aware that threatening a police officer with one definitely is).

Later that year, he was given community service for his part in a brawl in London that led to a fatality. In the end, he ended up doing 12 months in Wormwood Scrubs for paying a lookalike to do his community service for him (lol).

In 1998, Morrison was banned from driving for six months and fined £1,380 after twice being caught driving without a licence, and in 2002, he was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and car theft. He was released on bail, but a policeman was later arrested on suspicion of taking a bribe from him.

In 2004, he was arrested and spent a night in custody after a fight in a Leicester night club, and in 2009, he was arrested for assault in London.

Listen, fair play to Mark Morrison for staying trouble free for 15+ years after that, but I guess it was only a matter of time before he landed himself in hot water again – even if it’s for something as relatively minor as shoving a restaurant manager.

In fact, the Mack has already been bailed out of this latest incident on an $1,000 bond. Which I guess he can easily afford because he’s been collecting residuals from his 1996 smash hit record for nearly 30 years now. Apparently he even paid $2 million in cash for his house in Florida, just three years ago! Imagine that – making just one song that’s so timeless you can basically retire from it.

I mean, it really was and still is such an incredible bop…

Word of warning to the restaurant manager, though – I’m fairly sure Mark Morrison will return…

Meanwhile, here’s how fellow R&B icon R Kelly is getting along in prison…
