Season 6 of Black Mirror may have been a bit of a let-down, but not to worry, because Season 7 is on the way with six new episodes set to land on Netflix on April 10.
We already know that one episode in Season 7 will be a sequel to one of the best Black Mirror episodes ever: Season 4’s USS Callister. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it also looks like there’s a Bandersnatch sequel in there? Watch the first trailer for Black Mirror Season 7 below and see what you think:
Well that’s definitely a Black Mirror trailer. I’m just a bit gutted that Jesse Plemons doesn’t look to be returning for the USS Callister sequel, although I guess that makes sense given he died in the original episode. Still, it’s pretty cool that they’re returning to that universe.
Let’s hope Charlie Brooker and the Black Mirror park knock this one out of the park because Season 5 and Season 6 were both rather underwhelming. They’ve still got credit in the bank thanks to how good Season 1 – 4 were, and I appreciate that the real world is becoming harder and harder to satirise these days (especially when it comes to technology). It just seems like things went downhill about once they started bringing in all these B list actors and Americanising the whole thing a little bit. Here’s hoping it works out better for Season 7.
