Ever wanted to be in an ice hockey match but pride yourself on having most of your teeth? Don’t worry, you now have the comfort of feeling like you’re inside a hockey match but with the added luxury of being able to see through both eyes. This is thanks to AHL referee David Banfield. During a game between the Rockford IceHogs and the Charlotte Checkers he wore a GoPro helmet camera and a microphone. The linesman also wore a microphone.
It helps provide an insight into what a referee goes through and how they talk to the player. If this takes off in Ice Hockey maybe we could see football refs wearing them, I can only imagine what sort of stuff they go through.
