It’s almost 24 hours since the death of the Queen was announced and it’s fair to say that the country is still reeling from the news, but one man that has managed to hold it all together during this period is BBC News anchor Huw Edwards.

Edwards was the man chosen to lead the flagship news channel’s coverage of Elizabeth II’s death and it’s fair to say that the guy absolutely nailed it, with some people even saying that he should be knighted for his efforts. Given the excellence of his performance, it probably shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to hear that he had been rehearsing for months in the mirror for the big event – at least that’s what Alistair Campbell is saying:

I suppose we have to believe him on this because it seems like a really weird thing for him to make up, especially at a time like this?

In any case, it’s not even that weird that Edwards would be rehearsing for it because it’s literally the pinnacle of his career. And you’ve gotta give the devil his due here because he’s absolutely smashed it out of the ball park , so it was probably worth all those long nights in the mirror. The Queen is dead, long live the Queen!
