Hugh Laurie – that’s House, or Wooster, or someone in Stuart Little – has released new song ‘You Don’t Know My Mind” which is scheduled to be on his debut album (which is on Warner Bros, naturally) ‘Let Them Talk,’ coming out in the UK on May 9th but probably already available online if you know where to look.
Turns out Hugh Laurie, aside from being the highest paid actor in an American drama series (Charlie Sheen was the highest paid in an American comedy series before you call me out), is actually pretty good at music too and can play the guitar, drums, piano, saxophone and harmonica – some of which he makes use of in ‘You Don’t Know My Mind’ which is kind of like a modern blues jazz rock fusion sorta thing. Kinda like The Black Keys or something. Anyway, you can check out the song below:

Here’s a cool fact I found out about Hugh Laurie too whilst researching this piece. After Meat Loaf had guest starred in an episode of House, he invited Hugh Laurie to play piano as a special guest on the song ‘If I Can’t Have You’ from his 2010 album ‘Hang Cool Teddy Bear.’ That’s kinda cool right? I guess it would have been cooler if I had even known that Meat Loaf had released an album last year.
