It seems people can’t get enough of the missing submarine story, and to that effect 2022 submarine simulation horror game ‘Iron Lung’ has seen a dramatic rise in sales over the last week.

Creator David Szymanski said ‘this feels so wrong’ as he Tweeted this graph showing a sales bump over the last few days:

He added:

“I made Iron Lung the most nightmarish thing I could think of, and knowing real people are in that situation right now is pretty horrific, even if it was their own bad decisions.”

In the game, you enter a dodgy submarine – called the Iron Lung – which is shut from the outside. You’re then dropped into the depths of the ocean and have to ‘explore an ocean of blood’ which involves taking pictures of things that flash up on a screen in the submarine (there are no windows, you see).

It’s obviously a low-quality indie game, but the reviews are really good and it does look quite intriguing from some of the gameplay I’ve seen:

Hopefully David Szymanski doesn’t use all the extra $$$ he’s making to pay for a real life submarine trip to the Titanic. Now that would really be tempting fate at this point.
