Really surreal clip doing the rounds this week of former pop star and Neighbours legend Holly Valance coming out as a Tory poster girl at the launch of Liz Truss’s new Popular Conservatism group, although maybe it’s not that surprising given she’s married to billionaire property tycoon Nick Candy, who is one of the richest people in the UK.

Valance, 40, said: “Everyone starts off as a leftie and then wakes up at some point after you start making money, working, trying to run a business, trying to buy a home and then realise what crap ideas they all are. And then you go to the right.”
Reckon her switch from leftie to Tory coincided with her marriage to a billionaire property tycoon and never having to work a day in her life? Maybe just a coincidence.
She went on: “I thought Liz was really really interesting to listen to, Jacob for PM, the MP for Ashfield (Lee Anderson) was awesome, love a northerner, straight to the point and very sensible.”
I mean, being conservative-minded is all well and good, but backing Jacob Rees-Mogg for PM? Get a grip, Holly Valance! Although I guess we all vote for what benefit ourselves and our loved ones the most, at the end of the day.
