4.) Every decade has seen its share of thought provoking lyricists. The 60s had Bob Dylan whose songs were laced with political protest which profoundly affected the world. The 90s gave us Tupac, whose lyrics taught us much about black nationalism, echoing the social injustice and racial inequalities of the era.
Now for the second decade of the noughties we’re presented with “Factory, Machines, Noise, Hum Sound Effects”. A natural progression beyond Skrillex and his contemporaries, this ballad is a raw and unforgiving wordless social commentary on the industrialisation of the natural world and the assimilation of the human consciousness.
Interspersed with heart wrenching cries of ‘high definition sound effect’ it will make you question everything you ever believed in, making it a firm hipster favourite for days to come (NB days in hipster world are like years in celebrity marriages).
