1) WorldWide Devastation
Alright, so this one might seem a given. But let’s look at it more in depth.
If several countries decided to launch nuclear attacks on one another, the immediate impacts would be horrific. Hundred’s of millions of people would die in the initial explosions, with just as many more suffering from the aftermath with radiation poisoning. These guys would arguably have it the worst. At least if you die immediately it’s a quick and presumably relatively painless end – over before you know it.

The American Congress’s Office of Technology released a report in 1979 entitled The Effects of War. The report envisaged up to 80% of the population of the U.S. would be eradicated immediately, and that barely any remains would be distinguishable. They predicted further casualties from radiation in the days, weeks and months following the initial attack.
This means that the ones who survive and are exposed to the radiation will suffer from cancer, radiation sickness and the general horrors that would follow a societal disaster. Images that would scar them for the rest of their lives, presuming they didn’t die from their post-radiation afflictions (which they probably would). Lovely stuff.
