The Colleen Rooney/Rebekah Vardy trial has to be one of the dumbest moments in the national consciousness in the past few years, so it’s hardly surprising that Channel 4 have decided to make a television series about it.

‘Vardy V Rooney: A Courtroom Drama’ is due to air in December of this year, although no official date has been announced yet. I imagine it might be on over Christmas as it’s the kind of dumb marquis television that everyone would tune into over that period because there’s nothing really to do and it’s just too stupid not to get involved.
The two part series will star Chanel Cresswell as Rooney and Natalia Tena as Vardy with Michael Sheen also making an appearance as Rooney’s barrister David Sherborne. You can take a look at the first teaser trailer below:
Yeah I don’t really think there’s too much to say about that other than it’s probably going to be even sillier than the actual trial was in real life. Channel 4 pulling out all the stops for some true event television this Christmas. Fair play.
