Sriracha sauce has been a staple of the British palette for some years now, so it’s probably not surprising that Heinz are releasing a Sriracha version of their famous tomato ketchup, but more surprising that it’s taken them so long to release an amalgamation of the two flavours.

The limited edition sauce actually dropped last week but was limited to a 57 bottle run that sold out from the Heinz websites in minutes – thankfully though the famous sauce manufacturer has seen the error of its ways and decided to release the new condiment nationwide this summer. The Tomato Ketchup Sweet Sriracha gives you that classic tomatoey goodness with a perfectly harmonised, bold, sweet kick of heat to enliven your senses, ideal for those who favour flavour over fire.

Here’s what Thiago Rapp, Director of Taste Elevation at Heinz said:

‘Following the success of Heinz Tomato Ketchup Pickle Flavour, Bacon Flavour and Curry Flavour in recent years, we know our fans are constantly looking for new flavours to elevate their meals.

With the sweet and spicy trend not coming to an end any time soon, it was the perfect time to add a new twist to the iconic Heinz Tomato Ketchup taste people know and love by launching the Sweet Sriracha variety for those wanting an extra kick of sweet heat.’

Heinz were actually kind enough to send me a few bottles of the new flavour and I would say that it’s a great combination of the two and reminded me a bit Worcester sauce flavour crisps when I was little, but with a big more zing to it. I’ll definitely be using it all up in the coming weeks – and I recommend you do too. Will be interesting to see what other crazy flavour ketchups the guys from Heinz can come up with in the future too.
