50 Cent has been taking public digs at his 27-year-old son Marquise for some years now, ever since Marquise gave an interview with a rap website in 2017 saying the In Da Club hitmaker wasn’t a great dad.
Marquise told Rap-Up in 2017: “He wasn’t really around enough. It kind of dwindled down as time went on and certain events happened. For me, I just started feeling differently about him because growing up, my dad was my superhero.”
“Then, as I got older, you start realizing things or you start seeing certain patterns and it takes an effect on your relationship with people.
“That’s what happened with me and my father. He’s still alive but I can’t tell you our last conversation or the last time we even had a dialogue.”
Fast forward to 2024, and 49-year-old 50 Cent, who is estranged from Marquise’s mother (shocker), has provided what he says is the main reason for the deteriorating relationship between him and his son.
According to the rapper, despite receiving over $10,000 per month from his father, Marquise still sought financial support from him, which deeply annoyed 50 Cent. “He thinks being 50 Cent’s son means he doesn’t have to work,” the rapper stated.
50 Cent also says he offered to help his son set up a business to generate up to $1 million monthly, but Marquise declined. Which is absolutely mental, if true.
In a 2008 interview, 50 Cent had said: “My relationship with my son is changing because he and his mum aren’t friends anymore,” explaining that legal complications made it difficult for him to maintain a close relationship.
Later in 2018, 50 Cent left an unbelievable (and hilarious?) comment on an Instagram photo of Marquise alongside the son of 50 Cent’s long-time rival, Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff. 50 Cent wrote, “If both these little n—— got hit by a bus, I wouldn’t have a bad day.” Lol? Imagine being as famous as 50 Cent and publicly stating it wouldn’t ruin your day if your son got his by a bus, estrangement or not.
So, who knows what the truth is? Marquise says his dad wasn’t around enough when he was growing up, and 50 Cent claims the reason he doesn’t like his son is because he doesn’t appreciate the financial support and opportunities he gave him. Either way, it is pretty lame that a 27-year-old man doesn’t have a job and instead spends his time sh1tting on his dad online and in interviews. Imagine getting a $10,000 monthly allowance and your salary on top? You’d be absolutely living life!
Instead, Marquise turned down a $1 million business opportunity because I guess $10k a month was enough at the time. Pretty mental if you think about it.
Can I put myself forward to be 50 Cent’s son for only $9,500 a month? Cheers.
