If you’re anything like me, then you’ll know that Goldeneye is one of the greatest video games of all time and there’s absolutely no debate about that.

Although those N64 days are long gone for me now, I’m not really sure of the amount of time I spent with my buddies running around Facility and Archives with proximity mines and throwing knives or whatever. And don’t get me started on how long it took me to finish up Control on 00 Agent. Never again.
Clearly there are a whole bunch of people out there with similar memories to me though as one team of people has spent nigh on ten years recreating Goldeneye in HD for a new generation. The game is called ‘Goldeneye: Source 5.0’ and it’s available now for free and it looks completely and utterly sick.
Yep, a lot of good memories coming out of that one of some great levels like Temple, Cradle and Archives and it was great to see the remote mines, RCP 90 and throwing knives all again. Especially when Boris got whacked – I always hated it when people would play as that annoying prick. Basically this might be enough to tempt me back into gaming. Possibly.
For more Goldeneye, check out an uncompressed version of the soundtrack. Sounding good.
