Gwyneth Paltrow is in court this week being sued for $300,000 after smashing into a retired optometrist while skiing and leaving him with a traumatic brain injury (seriously), and for some reason turned up to court looking like cannibalistic serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.
Just a very unfortunate choice of glasses, to be honest…

It’s not just Jeffrey Dahmer she’s channeling either – these style of glasses have for whatever reason been the spectacles of choice for some of history’s most notorious serial killers, like BTK serial killer Denis Rader and the ‘Death House Landlady’ Dorothea Puente:
Even Ted Bundy and Edmund Kemper wore giant glasses, so they’re literally the last thing you should be wearing in a court of law. She would’ve been better off wearing a Mr. Potato Head glasses/moustache combo – sure she’d look ridiculous but at least she wouldn’t look like a serial killer.
Well anyway, it remains to be seen whether this is a money grab by the victim upon realising a Hollywood star collided into him in the slopes, or whether Paltrow is genuinely at fault for the accident. A witness told the court:
We were skiing down the run and then I heard this yell, this scream, and then I looked over and … then I see this skier just slam into the back of [the victim].
She slammed him very hard. She hits him directly in the back, his skis go out and he falls face down, so he’s kind of spread-eagled and Gwyneth is on top of him … and bounces off and slides about five or 10 feet.
The trial is set to last eight days. Let’s see what eyewear Gwyneth turns up with tomorrow – could be crucial to the verdict of this case.
