I guess there are some people out there who absolutely love Vin Diesel because ‘The Fast And The Furious’ movies are phenomenally successful, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually met one of them in person. Most people I know just think he’s a dumb meathead – and they’re probably right.

Not this complete and utter weirdo from over in Thailand though. Arthid Duangsri has dedicated his life to becoming the Thai Vin Diesel and is a massive celebrity over there because of this.

Naturally, VICE thought that it was worth making a mini documentary about the guy and of course it was completely worth it. Take a look at it below:

There is a man in Chiang Rai, Thailand who has dedicated his life to becoming Vin Diesel.

Growing up, Arthid Duangsri struggled with his identity. What’s more, he couldn’t get girls.

But one day, his friend pushed his long hair back and said “you know what, if you were bald you would look like Vin Diesel.”

This changed everything. He shaved his head, underwent a dramatic gym regimen and became the Thai Vin Diesel.

After his photo went viral around the world, he is now a local celebrity much beloved by the community.

Every day when he clocks off his job in IT, he gets fast and furious on the streets of his hometown.

I guess it’s nice that he’s grown in confidence and seemingly found his place in the world now, but it’s still massively strange that he found his identity by pretending to be Vin Diesel of all people. You’ve gotta think the guy probably has some mental health issues going on there. Hope he manages to figure it all out.
