You’ve gotta feel sorry for guys and girls out there who are well into their twenties and have never been able to find anyone to go on a date with them, but at least this guy isn’t locking himself in his mother’s basement, growing a pube moustache and writing loads of stories about killing women.

Instead, 23 year old Ed Chapman had decided after having no luck in real life or on the many dating apps out there that he would instead advertise himself on a massive billboard alongside the biggest motorway near his hometown of Leeds. Reach for the skies Ed.
The guy contacted an outdoor advertising operator based in Leeds called 75media who agreed to let him use an advertising board parallel to the M621 heading into Leeds City Centre. Here’s what Ed had to say about the stunt – and whether he had achieved any results from it:
I had tried some dating apps, but it didn’t go well for me at all.
I decided I needed to try something different and thought having my own billboard would be a good way of meeting people.
They found out through other people, so it was a shock. They thought it was funny, but they’re happy I’m trying to find someone, even if it’s in quite an unorthodox way.
I received my first message on the same day the billboard went live and since then, I’ve had a few messages from women between the ages of 18 to 48. It’s quite a mix.
I’m now talking to four women who are all keen in going on a date with me.
I’m looking forward to arranging them but obviously I’m a bit nervous.
It’s a great sign people have been in touch with me and shows me it’s not going to be doom and gloom forever in regard to my love life.
I’m gonna be honest, I really wanted to rip this loser for being so desperate that he spent money putting up a billboard advertising himself for a date, but to be honest he’s such a geek and talks in such a wholesome way about it that I can’t really do anything except wish him the best of luck with it all. Like I said, it’s way preferable to him becoming an incel and creating some weird woman hating manifesto and going on a mass murder spree or whatever.
Let’s hope one of his dates turns out to be a good one and this renewed hope doesn’t end up being what finally flips him when it doesn’t work out. Go Ed go!
