Waterslides are supposed to be fun, and the majority of times you go on one they probably will be.

However, there are definitely those times when they’re going too fast, the water goes up your nose in that really annoying way and you slam into the sides so it just ends up being kinda painful and scary. That isn’t a lot of fun, but it’s usually exciting and you don’t end up getting hurt that bad.
Apparently though, there are exceptions to this rule as this guy called David Salmon from Dallas found out when he flew off the side of a waterslide and down a rocky cliff, breaking his arm, fracturing his ribs and shredding up his back. Ouch.
Here’s what he had to say:
Too dang old to be going down water slides. Fell off this one that is over a rocky cliff. First time in an ambulance.
I’m currently in the hospital in Round Rock. Broke my arm (humerus) and fractured ribs.
Multiple lacerations on my back, arms and side. Just found out I don’t need surgery so that’s good news!
One more night in Austin then I can go home to Dallas.
Geez. Who knew waterslides could be so dangerous? Check out the footage below:
Alley oop. Seriously though, despite the fact this is a seriously unlikely event should they really have the waterslide on the edge of a rocky cliff with no netting or anything? Reeks of irresponsibility, but I suppose this is the first time this has happened after about a million or so rides so maybe it was worth the risk? Maybe.
Also kinda funny that the guy’s name was David Salmon considering how he leapt off the slide and over the edge like salmon leap out of the water, right? Right?
Still, this slide probably isn’t as dangerous as the one at Action Park. Well know for being the most dangerous water park in all of history.
