Given that it’s been around seven years since GTA V was released and subsequently became the biggest selling video game of all time, you might have thought that Rockstar were at least halfway through developing the next instalment of the greatest video game franchise of all time.

Turns out that this isn’t the case at all and they’ve barely even started to scratch the surface of it – at least according to a new report that spoke to fifteen employees of the company about how they had been making changes to their culture after several reports of a toxic workplace. The whole report is a pretty interesting read, but the key point about GTA 6 can be read in the tweet below:
The next GTA is still a ways away, so it’ll be a while before we see whether the company’s attempts to mitigate crunch are really successful, but in the last year Rockstar has made several quality-of-life improvements and replaced managers that staff described as toxic.

I mean I dunno about you, but that’s not really the news I wanted to be hearing. There have been so many rumours over the years that GTA 6 was going to be one of the launch titles for the next generation of consoles and with those on the precipice of release – I suppose they could be delayed another year because of this whole Coronavirus nonsense – it’s kind of a bummer to think that we might have to wait literal years to play it. I guess we’ll know that it’s worth it when we do finally get our hands on it though.
