One thing that I have never uttered upon walking into Greggs the bakers is “damn, I wish they could sell me a burrito,” but just in case I ever did feel that way, Greggs have already solved the problem by announcing that they’re going to sell a range of burritos starting today. Alrite?

Here’s how Greggs decided to announce this new menu item:
The NEW Greggs Burrito range has taken inspiration from both home and overseas, with an eclectic range of new additions to suit all taste buds.
As ever the look is tasty and appealing, with warm textures, new flavours and fresh designs.
The three available flavours are as follows:
Chipotle Pulled Beef Burrito (428 calories) – pulled Fajita beef, a smokey tomato rice and bean mix, sliced peppers, red onion, mature cheddar cheese, and chipotle chilli jam.
Fiery Pulled Chicken Burrito (426 calories) – pulled Fajita chicken, a smokey tomato rice and bean mix, sliced peppers, red onion, Monterey Jack chilli cheese, crème fraiche dressing, and sliced jalapeños.
Onion Bhaji Burrito (445 calories) – onion bhajis, a smokey tomato rice and bean mix, sliced peppers, red onion, Monterey Jack chilli cheese, mango chutney, yoghurt, and mint.
Wow. Can’t believe that the vegetarian options has the most calories. Crazy.
Anyway, the burritos cost £3, making them significantly cheaper than your Chipotle or Chillango or whatever, with the veggie option clocking in at £2.75.
I’m not really sure who’s going to be excited by an onion bhaji burrito though – has anyone even contemplated making one of those before? Why would you put onion bhajis in a burrito? Maybe it’s excellent and I’ll eat my words, but it doesn’t sound too appetising right now. Guess you gotta suck it and see.
But I mean other than that it all sounds great. Greggs is all about cheap crappy food so why not diversify into burritos. Like I said they’re cheaper than anywhere else, and if you excuse the fact there’s no guacamole then they might be OK.
