4) Maternity Box

In Finland, the government has noticed that children are the most expensive thing to happen to anyone, ever. To ease the burden a touch, each expectant mother receives a maternity box full of useful things for the new born baby to ruin. Clothes, nappies, cream, sheets and the box itself doubles up as a cot. Genius.
Unsurprisingly, Finland has one of the lowest infant mortality rates in the world. If I put my Grinch hat on I might say that there are already too many babies in this world, why is my tax money going on additional mouths to feed? But I’m not going to put my Grinch hat on, so… ahhhh, that’s nice.
