Just before Christmas, Jeremy Clarkson’s article about how much he hated Meghan Markle and wished to see her paraded naked around a town with the whole population throwing stuff at her became one of the most complained about pieces of writing in history, but I think we all assumed that he probably wouldn’t face any consequences from it because that’s just what usually happens with these things.

However, it looks like Clarkson has actually been cancelled by Amazon because of his ill expressed opinions about Prince Harry’s wife, as Variety has reported that the streaming giant won’t be moving forward with any of the presenter’s project after the ones that they’ve already commissioned. This does mean that they’ll be a third series of ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ and four more special episodes of ‘The Grand Tour’, but after 2024 Clarkson won’t have anything to do with Amazon anymore, despite being one of their biggest ratings draws. Bold move from them.
Anyway, yo illustrate how bad the situation has become for Clarkson, he also took the unusual step of issuing a very lengthy and ‘heartfelt’ apology on his Instagram account around the same time that Variety made this announcement. Take a look and see what you think:

Wow. Don’t think I’ve ever seen Clarkson back down so hard over something, have you?
I’m sure some people will be fooled by his gentle rhetoric and somewhat understandable explanation here – although it’s more about him than the people he’s targeted – but I doubt he actually cares too much about his troublesome and hateful comments and is only really concerned about future job opportunities. Is it not somewhat of a coincidence that this ‘apology’ appears almost exactly the same time that the news about his two most famous TV shows break as well? Give me a break.
