After a whole decade’s worth of re-runs, Gordon Ramsay’s ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ is finally set to return to our screens by the end of the year.
The show, which racked up almost 100 episodes from 2007 – 2014, saw Gordon Ramsay visit failing restaurants and eviscerate the owners/staff who weren’t pulling their weight.
He’d then give the restaurants and their menus a complete makeover, which I guess is a decent compromise if you’re going to agree to be brutally shamed and ridiculed by one of the world’s top chefs in front of millions of people.
The show began life as Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares in the UK back in 2004, before being repackaged as ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ in the US, where it was similarly successful.
After bringing the show to a close in 2014, Ramsay had said:
“I’ve had a phenomenal 10 years making 123 episodes, 12 seasons, shot across two continents, watched by tens of millions of people and sold to over 150 countries.
During this time, I’ve visited over 100 restaurants, meeting and trying to help – or in some cases, failing to help – some of the most weird and wonderful people.
It’s been a blast, but it’s time to call it a day.”
10 years on, it seems 56-year-old Ramsay misses the days where he’d b*llock American restauranteurs for a living, and is bringing the format back. Or maybe Hollywood has shat itself because of the writer’s strike and backed up a truck load of cash to Ramsay’s door in order to make this happen. Either way, can’t wait to see him losing his mind at some hapless sods in the kitchen again. Never forget:
