Whoever you are regardless of sex or age or anything really, it’s important to wear your hair in a way that makes you feel comfortable and confident and hopefully looks good on you too.

The girl in the GIF/picture below might tick two out of three of these boxes but definitely not the final one. I don’t really have any kind of context for this video but it seems like some young girl is Skyping her parents and showing them how she’s decided to get cornrows by literally sewing kernels of corn into her hair. Take that in for a minute to think about how weird that would be before you watch the video below.

Ok ready? Maybe I’m just being really stupid about this but I can’t for the life of me get the sound to work so unfortunately I wasn’t privy to what was clearly an excellent conversation between the parents and the girl, but it’s still really funny just watching her unbridled enthusiasm for the project and her parents staring on in a mixture of sadness and disbelief. Really is something else:

I gotta say that even though the whole sewing corn in your hair for cornrows thing is obviously a major attraction of the video, it’s also a major highlight when the dad takes off his sunglasses and replaces them with a different pair of glasses with the sunglasses still on his head. Really like it when he just walks off at the end too. Classic dad moves.
