The two young ladies who were caught smuggling 35KG of cannabis into Birmingham International Airport following a ‘shopping trip’ to New York are capitalising on their viral fame in the most 2025 way possible – by joining OnlyFans.
Sophie Bannister, 30, and Levi-April Whalley, 31, from Blackburn, had an absolute touch after they were let off with suspended sentences, despite being busted with £160,000 worth of cannabis in their luggage at the airport.
With luck clearly on their side, the girls have now decided to make the most out of the situation and are set to make a killing by joining the subscription-based adult site.
Despite text messages on their phones indicating the girls knew they were working as drug mules, they still insist that they believed they were smuggling watches into the UK, and not cannabis.
Sophie explained to The Mirror that it all began with a single social media message from a girl she met in Marbella: “She asked if we wanted to travel to New York around Christmas. All we had to do was bring some watches back.”
“You just enjoy the holiday and don’t really have to think about what you were actually doing,” Levi added.
The judge at Preston Crown Court let the girls off with suspended sentences despite not believing their story for a second, telling them: “You were both aware that, having travelled from New York to Birmingham via Paris, you had in your respective suitcases a significant quantity of heat-sealed bags containing 35.5kg of cannabis.”
I guess it’s true what some people say about (relatively) young, attractive women: they really do go through life on easy mode. I mean, think about it. Trafficking 35KG of drugs into the UK and being let off with a slap on the wrist, to then having your story go viral and lead to an OnlyFans career that will no doubt net both girls a pretty penny. What can you say really? Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
Meanwhile, 40-year-old Halifax man Sunny Kanda has been jailed for two years for selling hacked firesticks. If only he was young blonde, eh?
