Customer Praises Waiter’s Excellent Service, Won’t Tip Because He’s Gay

A 20 year old waiter came back to a table he was serving at Carraba’s Italian grill in Kansas and was left shocked and appalled to find that the patrons had left the table, along with a note commending his good service during their meal but refusing to tip him on account of his sexuality. Yep, people like that still exist and apparently feel that this is acceptable behaviour.

Here’s what the note actually said – be warned it uses the word God gratuitously throughout it and also in capitals:

‘Thank you for your service, it was excellent. That being said, we cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to GOD. Queers do not share in the wealth of GOD, and you will not share in ours. We hope you will see the tip your fag choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD’S love, but none shall be spared for fags. May GOD have mercy on you.’

Ouch. For what it’s worth the kid acted fairly nonchalantly about the whole incident, despite it making headline news and (somewhat surprisingly) causing quite a huge outrage in Kansas and the wider United States. He’s decided to remain anonymous and merely said the following: ‘The offers to help pay me back are much appreciated, but not at all needed. I’d prefer to let my work ethic and my service do the talking, nothing else.’
