I haven’t watched Game of Thrones yet but judging by the number of my friends who are posting status updates on their Facebook profiles along the lines of ‘How long do I have to wait for the next season of Game of Thrones?’ or ‘Game of Thrones finale: get in!’ or ‘Game of Thrones is the fvcking bomb!’ or ‘Didn’t expect to like Game of Thrones but it fvcking ruled! Can’t wait for the next season of Game of Thrones,’ it seems like it’s THE popular new series this year. Maybe I should check it out. I mean Sean Bean is in it and he looks pretty cool in this Game of Thrones poster, right?

In the meantime, I came across this pretty funny fan made trailer that re-imagines Game of Thrones as a buddy movie, you know like Dumb and Dumber or Lethal Weapon or Rain Man or movies that Owen Wilson usually stars in. I posted something similar to this a few months ago which re-imagined Dumb and Dumber as an Inception style thriller which was pretty hilarious and I think Jerkstore posted one that re-imagined Snow Dogs as a Christopher Nolan movie, but generally I find that most of these fan made ‘funny’ trailers are pretty shit.

Kinda stoked to report that this Game of Thrones buddy movie one is really funny though. Even though I’ve never seen Game of Thrones I appreciated the editing so that it’s the exact replica of a trailer to one of those dumb buddy movies. It even has a Wesley Willis soundtrack and one of the dumbest voiceovers you have ever heard that wouldn’t be anywhere near amiss on one of those dumb buddy movie trailers I spoke of earlier. I don’t think there has ever been a fantasy buddy/comedy movie set in these sort of conditions either so it gets top marks for that too. I guess maybe look out for that next summer.
