You probably know this original from Prince’s girl group Vanity 6. Everyone knows the chorus even if they swear they’ve never heard the track in its entirety. A few years ago, Christina Aguilera turned up with Redman, covered in what looked like oil, crotchless cowboy trouser thingies and an incredibly buttock rotating dance routine to proclaim she was dirrrty. Britney decided she needed to do the same and thus became a slave, with a dance routine to rival Xtina’s and Pharrell instead of Redman. Looking back, I still can’t really tell who won that race but I was in camp Christina as ‘Stripped’ was MY album. I’m not even ashamed because it was MY album. Anyways, Britney sought sampling advice from Vanity 6 and the outcome was a grand success.
