Frances Bean Cobain has shied away from the limelight for most of her life and it seemed like the chances of her doing anything even remotely musical and following in the footsteps of her famous father were pretty remote.

Well, it looks as though that image might be shattered, as she’s decided to upload a clip of her playing a Jimmy Eat World cover onto her Instagram account. She’s also wearing a Fred Flinstone suit for some reason:

OK, so I mean that was only four seconds long and I didn’t even think it sounded that good (although other people are raving about it for some reason) but I suppose you have to be at least a little bit excited that the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love might actually be good on guitar and writing songs. I mean she’s bound to come up with something pretty good given her genepool, right… right?

Well maybe not, but Courtney Love seems bizarrely excited about it, reposting the video on her own Instagram account with the comment ‘I know your father is very proud of this as am I baby, I love you to the moon and back #proudmommy.’ Kooky.

Remember when Frances Bean Cobain married a dude that looked exactly like Kurt Cobain? Yeah, they’ve already filed for divorce, but that was a weird one wasn’t it?
