Earlier this year, musician Flying Lotus (real name Steve Ellison) released his first movie called ‘Kuso’ and let’s just say, it was a disturbing and surreal ride. So much so that when it premiered at Sundance Film Festival, a large chunk of the crowd left early.

The movie is described as a semi-connected series of short films, which look at the lives of mutated men, women and children who are victims of a Los Angeles earthquake. Some of the gruesome scenes include a man having sex with a talking boil on a woman’s neck and a doctor who keeps a cockroach in his butthole. You can understand now why it has been dubbed ‘The Grossest Move Ever Made’.
If you, like me, are a lover of all things grotesque, then you will be equally as intrigued to see this work of art. Luckily, you’re in for a treat, as not only is the movie getting a wide release, but we don’t even have long to wait. ‘Kuso’ will be available to stream on Shudder starting July 21. Get that one in the diary.
In case you hadn’t heard, the soundtrack features Flying Lotus himself, as well as Aphex Twin, Kamasi Washington, Thundercat and Brandon Coleman. Can’t wait for this one.
