There was a fairly outrageous rumour dropped this weekend that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather were in talks to stage a billion dollar megafight.

Whilst we were happy to report on this rumour, we were fairly sceptical that there was even an ounce of truth in it because the idea of Floyd Mayweather Vs Conor McGregor in a boxing match is completely and utterly ridiculous and probably something that is never going to happen for a multitude of reasons. It turns out that we might have been wrong about that though because Floyd Mayweather himself has come out in an interview and stated that it is something that is possible and he has actually been in talks about it.

Curveball:

Well OK, he doesn’t exactly mention McGregor by name but it’s fairly obvious that he’s the only person in MMA that it would be worth him fighting isn’t it? But yeah, the real story here is that this is actually something that they’ve been talking about and something that might actually happen, which a few days ago we all thought was completely impossible.

I’m still not exactly salivating over it because it still seems pretty far fetched, but the fact that they are actually talking about it and it wasn’t just bullshit is pretty mind-blowing. Still, I’ll believe it when I see it.
