Crazy scenes in central London yesterday as boxing legend Floyd Mayweather was out shopping in Hatton Garden. He made the grave mistake of entertaining a question about the Israel/Palestine conflict, apparently gave an unsatisfactory answer, and was then set upon by about 30+ protesters.
Here’s how it went down:

So apparently Floyd was just checking out some jewelry when he was asked whether he supported Israel. He replied that he was ‘proud to support the Jews’ – which probably isn’t the smartest thing to say when there’s a bunch of people waving Palestine flags in the vicinity – causing all hell brose loose.
A witness said: “Someone took a swing at him because of that. It looked very targeted. Floyd took a few hits during it, but his security was trying to push people back. I couldn’t really see Floyd trying to throw any punches back. His guards were just trying to get distance between him and them.’
Now I wouldn’t expect Floyd Mayweather to know the ins and outs and intricacies and complexities of the conflict in Gaza, but surprisingly he’s been vocal about the topic before. Following October 7 last year, he took to social media to state that he ‘stands with’ Israel and even visited the country in March to lend his support. He was even honoured in Jerusalem with a ‘Champion for Israel’ award, so I guess he knows which side his bread is buttered.
Still, however you feel about the situation, it is completely laughable that there’s a bunch of protesters yelling “p****” at Floyd Meather as he flees the area in his blacked-out 4×4. Would any of these tough guys fancy a 1-on-1 with him, I wonder? Doubtful.
