Imagine a life where you don’t have to pay rent, council tax, phone bills, insurance, income tax, National Insurance, electricity, gas and water bills. You are no longer in contract with anyone. To a certain extent you are freer than you’ve ever been in your life.
You don’t have to fill in any forms, you don’t have to tick boxes or leave boxes unticked.
That in itself is a pretty awesome thing. No late payment charges, no overdraft charges, no credit card bills. A few of the articles I read about homeless life mentioned how that was probably the best part. You are in charge of you. But, of course, that has its own terrors.
