I don’t think that anyone really anticipated ‘Saw’ developing into a humongous franchise when it came out back in 2004, but here we are on ‘Saw X’ and I think it’s the third time now that the series has been resurrected after seemingly bowing out with a final chapter?

After ‘Spiral: From The Book Of Saw’ a couple of years ago – that saw Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson fight a similar Jigsaw killer in the universe that the original series was set – we’re back with Tobin Bell’s Jigsaw for a story that’s seemingly set a good deal of time before his death at the end of ‘Saw 3’. Seems like some doctors down in Mexico tricked him by saying that they had cured his cancer, so he’s going to get revenge on them the only way he knows how: by imprisoning them in some weird warehouse maze and putting them in a variety of different death traps.
Why change a winning formula? Check out the trailer below:
The most disturbing instalment of the Saw franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game. Set between the events of Saw I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable.
Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.
Eh I feel like that’s a bit underwhelming? I suppose that it just looks like a ‘Saw’ movie though so not really sure what my problem it or what I was expecting when they’re all essentially the same movie just with more elaborate and rank death traps each year, so I suppose I can’t really be disappointed.
Will definitely be checking it out come Halloween. It’s time to play a game.
For more of the same, check out when this man sawed off his own leg whilst high on spice. Been watching too much ‘Saw’.
