Ever since some photographs of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling dressed up as Barbie and Ken dropped last summer, everyone has been quietly excited about the prospect of a movie about everyone’s favourite set of girl’s toys- mainly because nobody really has a clue what it could be about.

Unfortunately, even though the first trailer has now dropped we still aren’t really any the wiser. Take a look at it below and see if you can figure anything out:

Yeah they really aren’t giving anything away there are they? I guess it sort of looks like Barbie lives in some cool toy world where she’s sort of the boss? And then maybe Ken gets into some trouble on a boat somewhere or something. Or maybe they’re just dancing with each other? Is it a musical?

I really don’t know the answers to any of those questions, but I guess we’ll find out come July 21st next year. Or maybe when another trailer drops in between that? It’s probably gonna be a lot of fun with Greta Gerwig at the helm.
