Over the last year, the disturbing saga of Ezra Miller has only gotten worse and worse. Most recently, the 29-year-old was charged over a burglary, which I guess was pretty tame compared to the time he choked a woman out, threatened to murder a man and his “slut wife”, and groomed a 12-year-old girl.
Well it now turns out that Miller, who plays The Flash in DC Comics films, has begun treatment for ‘complex mental health issues’, according to the BBC. The non-binary star also released a statement apologising to those they had “alarmed and upset” with their behaviour:
“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment.
I want to apologise to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behaviour.
I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”
Interestingly, this comes following reports that Warnes Bros were in full on crisis mode over whether they should scrap the $200 million ‘The Flash’ movie due to be released in June 2023, given Ezra’s psychopath behaviour. I guess they convinced Ezra to put out a statement and seek therapy instead, and pray that the backlash dies down by the time the film is released in a year’s time.
For whatever reason, Ezra Miller is still a free man and no police department or court can figure out how to put him behind bars, despite a sizable list of very publicly-documented crimes. I mean does this guy have to actually kill someone before they put him in prison or what?
Will be interesting to see whether Ezra is given press/media duties ahead of the film’s release next June. Apparently ‘The Flash’ is testing really well so the studio is keen to put it out (not to mention the fact they spent $200m on it). Unless this therapy for his ‘complex mental issues’ works, there’s a good chance Ezra will do something completely dumb and horrific to have the film shelved for good though. Even if it is released, will Ezra Miller ever be trusted with a movie role again?
