Whilst all eyes have been focussed on Harvey Weinstein in Hollywood, ex Pussycat Doll Kaya Jones has been brining the fight to another part of the showbiz world – the music industry.

It was only yesterday that she said that being part of the group was pretty much just like being in a glorified prostitution ring, and today Kaya has revealed that she was once sexually assaulted in the back of a limousine by a top record exec amongst other stories. Speaking to The Daily Mail, here’s what she had to say:
It wasn’t so much prostitution, but we were expected to do sexual favours for people in the industry.
As just one example, a record executive asked me to get into his car and I accepted. We were in Las Vegas and we were all racing to get to the airport to take us back to LA after the show.
It was just a 10-minute ride. I remember getting in the back seat of the limo with him and within seconds he jumped on me. I literally had to fight him off all the way to the airport.
Like most of the girls in the band, I didn’t drive,’ she added.
I would regularly have a car service take me to an event.
I have lost count of the number of times my car didn’t turn up at the end to take me home. “Oh, so-and-so will give you a ride home,” I was always told.
If I accepted, the same thing would happen again. How many times does a girl hoping to make it big have to push an older man off her?
A girl around the age of four made me see the light, and I left the band before our debut album was released.
We were in Vegas and she was with her mother and her older sister and she looked at me and said with awe: ‘You’re a Pussycat Doll.’ She had me with those words. It was like I was Wonder Woman in her eyes.
I stopped and thought to myself: ‘What are you doing? This girl wants to be me. If she succeeds she will have to cope with sexual predators and verbal and mental abuse, she’ll suffer from eating disorders, she’ll consider suicide.
I just thought I can’t do it anymore. And I have absolutely no regrets at turning my back on the Pussycat Dolls.
Robin Antin – the founder of Pussycat Dolls – was the worst.
She mentally and verbally abused us every second of the day. She would tell me how fat my a** was or how small another girl’s breasts were.
She even took all our baby pictures for a project she called ‘Before The Dolls Were Dolls.’ It was all in such a rush that I didn’t even have time to make copies.
When I asked for them back she said she had thrown them in the trash. So, basically, I lost all my childhood pictures.
I wouldn’t have come out with this now if it wasn’t for the fact I could have lost my life in Vegas two weeks ago.
Then I read that the Pussycat Dolls are planning a reunion. That would mean more girls being abused just the way we were. Why wouldn’t it happen again? — it’s all the same people involved.
After all that I couldn’t be quiet, I couldn’t just shrug it off any longer or I would be complicit.
This sort of thing has been going on for decades. Don’t forget what Tippi Hedren said about Alfred Hitchcock.
Everybody in the entertainment industry knows it is not just Harvey Weinstein. All those who say it is are talking BS. We have to face reality that this is the norm in the entertainment industry.

Well, there you have it, the monstrous charges that have been laid at Harvey Weinstein this week aren’t limited to him or even just the movie industry – it’s all aspects of the entertainment business. I can’t even pretend to act surprised after everything that’s gone down in the last couple of weeks, or maybe even from what we knew about show business before this. Let’s hope that all this will go at least some way to shutting it down though.
